DRESS CODE
General Guidelines
At Camp Hope, we believe that our outward appearance reflects our inner commitment to Christ. Clothing should honor God, promote respect, and avoid causing distraction or stumbling (Romans 14:13). This dress code is intended to foster a safe, focused environment where campers can grow spiritually without the influence and distraction of immodest trends. It’s rooted in love—protecting hearts, encouraging purity, and allowing everyone to fully participate in all camp activities.
Enforcement of the dress code often requires judgment by the Program Directors and staff. Thus, the spirit of the guidelines is that if clothing draws undue attention to the body or is distracting, it’s not camp appropriate. Let’s dress to serve and uplift one another (Galatians 5:13).
Please note these guidelines and decisions by the Program Directors/staff are meant to ensure that clothing worn by both campers and staff will contribute positively to the spirit of camp. If you’re unsure about an item, ask the staff or the Program Director – they’re here to help. Issues will be addressed kindly in private with a suggestion for alternative clothing.
